Barry Baty – Owner and Director
Barry founded Top Flight Travel in 1992, after 25 years as an Army Officer. As CEO of Top Flight, Barry determines the strategic direction of the company to secure its position as a leading independent Travel Management Company. As well as overseeing the operation of the company as a whole, Barry works very closely with the Business Development Team to promote the high level of service and quality that Top Flight Travel offers to its clients.
Barry has a Psychology BA (Hons) degree and highly values quality, integrity and commitment from his workforce. His highly communicative style flows through in to his customer service ethos, of having an upfront, honest and open relationship with clients. Barry’s passions include classic cars and chopping logs.
Maria Baty - Owner and Director
Maria has worked in the travel industry for over 25 years, managing a variety of corporate and entertainment clients. In 1993, Maria joined the UNIGLOBE Regional team where she worked as Director of Training and Development. Maria then joined Top Flight Travel as a Company Director in 1998.
Maria’s main responsibilities lie in Account Management, where she personally manages a number of our key clients. Maria also works closely with all departments, to drive forward strategic initiatives and develop our value proposition. Maria is continuously focused on providing our clients with an excellent customer service experience. Both in her spare time and as part of her role, Maria enjoys travelling as well as playing golf and cooking.
Both Barry and Maria’s company goals are to be a leader in the industry for high quality business travel solutions. They are dedicated to providing a dynamic working environment where both staff and clients feel valued.
Helen Webb - Head of Administration
Helen Webb manages the Administration function within the company and in conjunction with our Financial Director monitors our costs and supplier contracts, renegotiating as necessary.
Helen’s key responsibilities are to ensure that invoices and statements are raised in accordance with company/client specific SLAs, are accurate and require all relevant information. Her team also assist the Operations teams with manual invoicing and refund processing; and work alongside the Finance team in responding to client queries.
Helen has worked in the travel industry for over 26 years, joining UNIGLOBE in 1999. During her time here she has covered a variety of roles which has provided her with a complete understanding of many areas of the business. In her spare time, Helen enjoys skiing and cooking, and also spends a lot of time watching her son play football.
Natalie Barfield - Head of New Business and Account Management
Natalie Barfield has overall responsibility for the Sales and Account Management function within the business and also develops strategic relationships with other UNIGLOBE locations around the world.
Natalie’s key areas of focus include monitoring the development of sales pipelines, including RFPs, as well as overseeing the entire implementation process, an area that she has worked extensively in. Also as part of her role Natalie works closely with the Account Management team to ensure we build cohesive and strategic partnerships with our clients; and continually looks to incorporate innovative solutions into our value proposition.
Natalie regularly attends networking events, both within the UNIGLOBE network and externally within the travel industry.
Natalie has been with UNIGLOBE since 2000 and in this time has fulfilled a variety of roles, providing her with a sound understanding of many areas of the business. In her spare time Natalie enjoys spending time with her family and travelling as well as keeping fit, having participated in a number of running events.
Vanessa Hailstone – Head of Operations
Vanessa Hailstone has overall responsibility for the Operations function across the company, working closely with Managers and Team Leaders in each location.
Vanessa’s key areas of focus are to maintain continuity of service and quality control levels as well as driving agent productivity and enhancing client experience. Vanessa also works closely with the Account Management team to build effective relationships with our clients.
Vanessa has worked in the travel industry for over 16 years and has been at UNIGLOBE since 2000. She has a strong operational background supported by a variety of ticketing and airfares qualifications. Both in her spare time and as part of her role, Vanessa enjoys travelling to new places and meeting new people and has had the opportunity to visit a number of different UNIGLOBE agencies worldwide.
Jane Bleddyn – Training and Development Manager
Jane Bleddyn leads the strategy for both our technology/development and training initiatives within the company, working closely with many of our global UNIGLOBE partners.
Jane’s main responsibilities include developing and maintaining our online booking tool suite, creating automated processes, and working with our partners and suppliers to ensure all internal and external systems function to both company and client expectations. Jane also works closely with 3rd party providers in beta testing new products, allowing us to help them create products that are a benefit to our clients, prior to being released into the marketplace.
A qualified VA1+2 Air Fares Trainer, Jane also manages a team who design and run internal training courses for our employees.
Jane has worked with UNIGLOBE since 2001 and has worked in the travel industry for over 20 years in a variety of roles. In her spare time Jane enjoys travelling, especially to Eastern Europe where she spent 3 years working in the first Western Travel Agency in Kiev.
Lisa Deacon - Finance Manager
Lisa Deacon is responsible for the day to day running of our Finance department and works closely with the Financial Director.
As part of her role, Lisa controls and co-ordinates the day to day accounting for business transactions, prepares management accounts for the company Directors, as well as overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts and VAT/Corporation tax returns. Lisa works very closely with Helen Webb to ensure both Finance and Administration departments work effectively together.
Having worked in finance for 7 years, Lisa is a fully qualified AAT member and holds an Advanced Diploma in Accounting & Business she is also a part qualified ACCA student. In her spare time Lisa enjoys all aspects of music, including going to the Theatre and Musicals.
Diane Fright - Key Account Manager
Diane has worked for Top Flight since May 2010, and works in close partnership with a diverse portfolio of our key clients both in the UK and globally. With 35 years’ experience in Business Travel, Diane ensures an effective account management programme is delivered through agreed strategic initiatives, with clearly defined measures.
Diane has a Management Certificate in Business Travel (MCBT), British Airways Fares & Ticketing qualification levels 1-3, and is a qualified ISO Auditor. In her spare time, Diane enjoys Charles Dickens, cooking and plays netball to county standard.
Richard Hassell - Account Manager
Richard has over 30 years industry experience, having covered both Business and Leisure travel, online booking tools, the implementation process and Account Management. Having worked for Top Flight since 2011, Richard manages the strategic relationships with some of our high profile, key clients. Richard is also responsible for delivering an effective account management programme through agreed strategic initiatives, with a focus on supplier negotiations.
Richard has a City & Guilds in Travel and Tourism, and British Airways Fares & Ticketing qualification levels 1-3. Both in his spare time and as part of his role, Richard enjoys travelling to new places. He also has a keen interest in aviation, and enjoys team sports such as football and tennis.
Bob Keane - Business Development Manager
Bob has worked in Sales within the travel industry for over 47 years, joining Top Flight in 2005. Bob is responsible for business development both in the UK and globally; and actively takes part in industry and UNIGLOBE events.
Bob is a qualified lecturer in Travel and Tourism, having taught at Bristol Filton and Bath colleges for 7 years. Being a keen walker, Bob enjoys the outdoors as well as cooking. He also enjoys a game of fast Scrabble.
Louise Ferguson - Account Manager
Louise has been with Top Flight since July 2013, and has extensive knowledge of the industry having worked in Business Travel since 1999. Louise has numerous industry related qualifications including ATOC, BA level 1 and 2 fares and ticketing, BTEC Travel and Tourism and a Management BA (Hons) degree from the University of London.
As part of her role, Louise is responsible for building and delivering customer relationships for an allocated portfolio of our clients, as well as developing strong supplier relationships and organising client events. In her spare time, Louise loves to cook and socialise with her family and friends. She also enjoys yoga and the outdoors.
Claire Herbert - New Business Co-ordinator
Claire is primarily responsible for implementing new business in a project management capacity, working closely with the Head of New Business and Account Management. As part of her role, Claire also participates in all areas of the sales process, with a particular focus on demonstrating our client facing technology.
Claire has been with Top Flight since April 2012, having previously worked in Sales for 12 years and completing a Travel and Tourism Management BA (Hons) degree from Buckinghamshire New University. In her spare time, Claire enjoys festivals, concerts and live music. She also enjoys travelling and meeting new people.
